I'm surprised I haven't done a write up on this one, yet. Probably because it was one of the first Vegan Restaurants I hit up when I finally decided to call LA home. My first trip was really fun, seeing the place that defined vegan cheese... It was a disappointment to find out that the restaurant wasn't vegan, but my first Reuben there was magical, the rest of my trips not so much...

Another hour drive to the Valley last night to be thoroughly under impressed by mediocre liquid meat food available sans liquid meat.

One bright spot was that Follow Your Heart seems to carry EVERY restaurant in town's grocery MREs they had CA Vegan, Taste of LIfe, etc, etc, etc If I wasn't so stuffed from a reuben the size of a football field I'd have taken home oodles of them.

Walk to the back of the Grocery Store to be seated for the restaurant. The strange thing is that you pay your check at the grocery register when you leave. You can add a tip on your CC, too. You can sit inside or outside. Just prepare for your server to be a little stoned or out to lunch and to not get the right side / forget something all together, etc. As long as you're on top of it and cut them some slack it'll be a delightful time.

Ooooh do they carry taste of life mac and cheese?!? If they do, I will go get some. I haven't seen it recently at whole foods.

Dude, I NEED to try that reuben. Everyone keeps talking about it.

yep they had the mac'n cheese! The Rueben is like the size of an aircraft landing pad. I didn't remember it being that large (surface area) before, but The Vegan Spots was better :) They just kind of threw it together last night and someone there was mustard and thousand island or something. And they forget to do my side of oven fries....

Them's fighting words!

I consider myself a Reuben connoisseur, and the FYH reuben is soooo much better than The Vegan Spot reuben. Maybe your brain has started deteriorating after all that oil free eating.

haha, its quite possible! I've had the FYH before and it was better than that time, but it seems to be a question lately on vegan restaurant food consistency. Hands down the Chicago Diner's Reuben trounces them all.

That's something that everyone can agree on.

A little FYH breakfast food, saw Dave Anderson (Madeline's Bistro) and his family at breakfast on Monday.
