The key to Native Foods is PARKING. It really sucks. #1 You can park south of Wilshire in the neighborhoods for free, but who wants to walk that far and cross Wilshire! #2. There is a $5 garage right before Native Foods next to Nature's Way Cafe (veg-friendly) #3. You can pray for a meter. #4. You can do the Whole Foods Tango. Park in Whole Foods and pretend to walk inside, and skip to Native Foods and do the same upon return. (I'm not responsible if you get towed!)

Native Foods is divided in two parts due to expansion and LA's communist red tape required to deal with large populations (see China). If you want to eat there I advise not sitting upstairs, or if you do sit far away from the kitchen. Native Foods fries the shit out of everything so you'll leave feeling greasy on the outside and inside. You can eat in on the Take out side, which is clean-new-nice and had a nice Herbivore vegan clothing store.

What to eat! I'm a big fan of everything here minus the oil and fat. They put a bowl next to everything on the menu for first timers. I just had the Scorpion Burger, it was fantastic. The Mad Cowboy Bowl, Ghandi Bowl, etc, its all great! Just ask for dressings on the side and if you get a pizza tell them to go easy on the oil or they drown the crust!

Top Fav of others (I don't do soy protein or much fake meat) Save the Chicken Chicken Wings!

Skip the Tofu Love Pie... eww get the Cheese Cake.

There is parking on Broxton. You must access Broxton through Weyburn (or Le Conte). It is on Broxton, south of Weyburn, on your left hand side. They offer 2 hours free parking until 6pm (after which, there is a $3 flat fee with no time restrictions until close of the lot). You can walk down towards Kinross (head towards south), make a right on Kinross (next street) and left on Gayley and it will be on your left hand side. :)

Native Foods always has a Special. See the pic of the Save the Turkey below. It was pretty tasty, great bread.

That's funny. Whenever I went with my friend Jeremy who had a car he always parked it at Whole Foods.

Don't miss these No Whey Bakery Red Velvet Twinkies at Native Foods! They aren't in the refrigerator with the other goodies so they are easy to miss! Ask if you don't see them. Kristin and I split the one below and it was DELECTABLE!

Which location was this??? I'm starting to think I'm destined to never have a vegan twinkie- Doomie's was closed last time I tried. Was just at the Westwood Native Foods over the weekend and had a so-so cupcake.

Spotted Tanya cooking up in the kitch @ Native Foods Westwood last Thursday night when I was in town! She spotted my friend & I gazing down into the kitchen and asked how the food was. Of course we raved! She was super duper nice and chatted for a few minutes and let us know about an upcoming cooking demo. :D

I went in hungry yesterday so I decided on the Scorpion burger with fries on the side. I ate LIKE an animal with sauce on the corners of my mouth till the very end. Sure the large portion and side of fries drowned in ketchup didn't make it the healthiest of meals, but it was freakin' tasty and satisfying nonetheless. There are plans to open 3 more locations by the end of this year and expand out of state by in 2010. I really hope the taste and quality of the food doesn't suffer.
